Job description

Primary School in Knowle seeking for Literacy Intervention Specialist for Key Stage 1

  • Flexible hours
  • Part Time
  • KS1 experience preferred

A primary school within the Knowle area is currently looking for an intervention specialist to work with pupils needing additional assistance with their learning. You will be working with children on a 1:1 basis and/or in small group settings, so if you have previous experience of this then we would like to hear from you.

Intervention Teaching Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Working with number of different pupils

- Preparing learning materials

- Encouraging children to communicate

- Identify learning gaps where extra support is targeted

- Increase pupil’s academic potential

The right candidate for this position will have experience working within with children on a 1:1 basis and will be extremely confident of ensuring effective learning takes place through your assistance. Previous experience assisting children with their literacy and/or numeracy skills is also desirable.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
