Level 3 teaching assistant - Whitefield, Bury M45 primary school

A primary school in the Whitefield, Bury (M45) area is currently looking for a Level 3 teaching assistant to cover a maternity leave in the Year 3 class. The role will be starting on the 25th February and will last until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the teacher and pupils within the classroom and lead phonics and maths interventions for small groups of pupils and on a 1:1 basis who are struggling with the class work. This is a large primary school in Whitefield with a specialist Autism provision and has a number of pupils with special educational needs through Key Stage 1 and 2. Because of this, the successful candidate will have previous experience working with a wide range of complex needs either in a class room setting or similar.

You will:

  • Be providing additional support in the Year 3 class room
  • Be providing 1:1 support with SEN pupils or general TA roles depending on the role in the school
  • Be working with children in small group across the primary curriculum
  • supervising whole classes when required in the short term absence of a teacher

A successful primary school applicant should:

  • Be creative, enthusiastic and engaging
  • Have a strong passion for helping pupils to succeed in what they do
  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or Degree with relevant experience
  • Have previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Be flexible and adaptable
