Level 3 teaching assistant – Bury

A primary school in the Ramsbottom, Bury (BL0) area is currently looking for a Level 3 teaching assistant to work in the schools reception class. The role will be starting on the 4th September 2019 and will more than likely carry on for the full academic year.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the teacher and pupils within the classroom and lead phonics and maths interventions for small groups of pupils and on a 1:1 basis who are struggling with the class work. Speech and language has been identified as a gap in pupils learning so this role will focus on phonics interventions to raise attainment.  

You will:

  • Be providing additional support in the reception class room.
  • Be working with children in small group using the EYFS curriculum.
  • Supervise whole classes when required in the short term absence of a teacher.

A successful primary school applicant should:

  • Be creative, enthusiastic and engaging
  • Have a strong passion for helping pupils to succeed in what they do
  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or Degree with relevant experience
  • Have previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Be flexible and adaptable

This smaller than average sized primary school in the Ramsbottom area is dedicated to supporting all pupils, helping them reach their full potential. The school has a strong senior leadership team and can offer CPD courses for the successful candidates own personal development.
