Job description

The Governing Body of a Neath Primary School is seeking to appoint a part-time Level 2 Teaching Assistant for this friendly and forward thinking school. A hard working, reliable and professional person is required for undertaking this demanding but exciting role within the school.


The school is a happy, friendly community school and the teaching assistants are central to the running of the school. A calm and friendly manner is essential along with sound communication skills.


The successful candidate will enjoy working with children and will show a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential. The successful candidate will be ideally have knowledge of how to support pupils with additional learning needs combined with experience of working as a 1-1 support for children with additional needs.


Although not necessary, being able to speak Welsh would be advantageous. To apply for this role, please send your CV and a covering letter. The role will be commencing in the New Year with the potential to go on until the end of the summer term.


To apply for this role, you must have a valid Child Workforce DBS which is on the Update Service and be registered with the Education Workforce Council, or be willing to apply for these.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
