Full time and or part time Learning Support Mentors required from October 2018, for a Bury based CE Secondary School.
Teaching Personnel in collaboration with a Secondary school based in Bury, Greater Manchester, to appoint several Learning Support Mentors, to work in their school ahead of the new academic year.
With an increased demand for additional support staff across the School board, there are several gaps for additional Learning Support Mentors to work alongside the class teacher, under the guidance of Senior Leadership, across the National Curriculum.
- Full time Learning Support Mentor roles, Bury based C of E Secondary School. Required from October 2018.
- A minimum of a graduate level qualification is required/ or equivalent to be considered for this position. Additional experience supporting young people within a classroom capacity will be highly beneficial.
- Initially on a temporary supply basis with the potential to progress onto a long term fixed contract.
- Earn up to £1200 per month.
The incoming Learning Support Mentors will be joining a growing support department working with young people across the school board at various levels of learning and can expect to receive full guidance and support from an assigned Mentor and or Specialist Education Consultant.
The Learning Support Mentors role will include;
- Work within various department supporting pupils 1:1 or in small intervention groups and deliver pre-planned lessons with full guidance and support to identified pupils.
- Take a flexible, empathetic and resilient approach to all pupils and promote good behaviour, relative to the school behaviour strategy.
- Help support the class teacher in order to keep pupils engaged; bridging the gap between them and their peers.
This Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school; with just over 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16, is based in a small diverse town in Bury, Greater Manchester. It is easily accessible via the M66 and has a range of public transport options available with links throughout Greater Manchester.
