Job description

We are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to join our workforce and help support local education provisions, specifically students with special educational needs.

We have a number of roles across both mainstream and specialist settings so are looking for someone who is a flexible and strong member of staff and can adapt to the environment around them

Suitable candidates will be able to;

  • Interact effectively with children that have social communication needs and may be non-verbal
  • Deal with pupils' physical, medical, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Have empathy and be respectful and sensitive to the vulnerabilities of children with learning difficulties
  • Remain calm, positive and confident when presented with the unexpected
  • Be pro-active in recognising learning opportunities in all situations and during every part of the school day
  • Have knowledge of how to support a child whilst encouraging independence
