Learning Support Assistant - Required to work with VI pupil

Job description

We wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work with a student who is Visually Impaired and requires specialist 1:1 care.

The pupil is currently attending a mainstream secondary school in Alford and requires assistance in lessons so that they can access the curriculum alongside their classmates. The pupil can read and use brail and would benefit from the support of somebody who as experience of working with Brail and the visually impaired in previous roles. Experience of this nature is advantageous but not essential.

The schools inclusive approach to education means that they would like to put support in place for this pupils as soon as possible so that they can continue to access learning and make progress alongside other learners. An immediate start is required however, for the right candidate, the school can be a little flexible.

The support would likely be required for the remainder of the academic year on a full time basis and there may even be a possibility of a permanent contract at the school for the right candidate and if the pupil makes expected levels of progress. Pay rates for this role can be extremely competitive ranging from £55.00 up to £85.00 per day for Support Assistants with specific qualifications and experience relating to working with the visually impaired.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
