Learning Support Assistant required in Preston

If so, I am working on behalf of a large mainstream secondary school (11-16) within the Preston area who are looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant from Monday 9th April. This role is full-time and is due to the retirement of a current member of staff in school.

This is a larger than average school in a welcoming area of Preston with close links to the M55 and M6. Students at the school may present challenging behaviour, although your role won't involve full classroom teaching, it is something to be aware of as the school would like an experienced Teaching Assistant with good behaviour management skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Working as a general Teaching Assistant within the classroom

- Likely to be attached to a certain dept. within school

- Leading Literacy/Numeracy groups with a handful of students on the odd occasion

- Supporting targeted students who are working below their expected target levels

- Supporting the classroom Teacher

With the position due to start from Monday 9th April, the school will be looking to meet with candidates interested ASAP. To be suitable for this role you must have prior experience as a Support Assistant within a secondary school and have a passion for young peoples education. If the school are interested in meeting with you, they will expect you in school for half a day on a voluntary basis to ascertain your suitability for the role.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
