Job description

A specialist school between Preston and Kirkham are seeking a TA to support pupils with Autism and challenging behaviours on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis. The pupil is primary-aged.
The role will involve supporting the pupil across the curriculum including support in English and Maths. You will encourage and motivate the pupil and promote positive behaviour in the classroom and around school.
As a member of the school staffing team you will be expected to view the child as a true 'individual' and as a person with their own strengths; interests and areas that they need to personally develop. You will work hard to maintain a 'family atmosphere' at school where an ethos and culture of valuing and mutual respect is evident. You will be dedicated to providing the very best support and committed to best practice.
The school has substantial grounds including woodland trails through orchards and vegetable patches for each class to grow their own produce. They have an outdoor sports area, outdoor play equipment and a large sunken garden with picnic benches for children to use. Inside, there are five large classrooms and a specialist unit, fully resourced for children on the autistic spectrum. The unit is built on the National Autistic Society's SPELL framework and has dedicated staff and intensive therapeutic input. (Therefore knowledge of the SPELL framework is highly sought after).
The role will be Mon-Fri and is to start ASAP.
The school is not easy to reach via public transport therefore you will ideally have access to your own car.
You MUST have experience in ASC and / or SEMH or have a strong passion to pursue this line of work.
You will ideally have Team Teach / be willing to undertake this, but this is not essential.
Please contact me immediately on 01772 842155 or send a copy of your CV if you wish to be considered.
