Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School in Bournemouth who are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1-1 basis. The school caters for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education. The pupils can display challenging behaviour.

This is a full time role, supporting a pupil in KS4 on a 1-1 basis.

The successful TAs daily duties will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for the pupil
  • Supporting the pupil inside and outside the classroom
  • Helping the pupil to socially interact with other pupils
  • Use your initiative to differentiate activities to support the pupil's needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher to give the pupil the best support
  • Follow an EHC plan and reward system for the pupil

To be a successful candidate for this role you will need to:

  • Have previous experience working within a school supporting pupils with SEN and/or behaviour needs
  • Be able to communicate effectively with different members of staff and parents
  • Have knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Be resilient and confident in behaviour management

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
