Do you have experience working with and supporting children with Special Educational Needs or EAL students in a classroom environment?

This is an opportunity for candidates with a passion for supporting vulnerable children and would like more classroom experience to join a comprehensive secondary school in East Cheshire. The school is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant on a full time, permanent basis commencing after Easter 2021.  The successful candidate will work together with regular classroom teachers, school senior leaders and SEN coordinators to provide support to children struggling to keep up with academic performance and their peers due to a Special Educational Need, EAL or a Social and Emotional Mental Health issue. The successful LSA will also assist in classroom scenarios and help regular teachers with class management.

We are looking for applications from candidates who have:

-          Experience working to support children with varying SEN requirements, such as autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, down syndrome and MLD

-          Experiencing providing support to students with Social and Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH)

-          Experience providing support to children with English as an Additional Language needs (EAL)

-          Experience assisting in a classroom environment (e.g. as a teaching assistant)
