Learning Support Assistant required for a large mixed secondary school based in Wigan.

Do you have previous experience working with children and young people, or have you recently graduated from university and would like to pass on your subject knowledge to students who need it most?

If so, then please see further details of this exciting full-time Learning Support Assistant position below;

  • Full-time Learning Support Assistant - required in January 2019
  • Supporting the learning of students who require additional guidance during lessons
  • Pay in line with previous experiences (between £1000 - £1200 per month)
  • Employment for the remainder of the year

Our client Secondary school wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join their Support faculty in the New Year.

After a recent review of progress from the students that enrolled in September, the Senior Leadership Team has requested that Teaching Personnel support them with the recruitment of a full-time Learning Support Assistant.

The successful candidate will be tasked with providing dedicated support and tuition, ensuring that all students that are currently working behind their target grade have the opportunity to exceed expectations.

Further information on this role;

  • Working with students on a 1:1 basis supporting them in core subject areas (Maths, English and Science)
  • Running small intervention classes with students that are falling behind in class.
  • Helping to manage the behaviour of individuals, ensuring that they remain on task and are focused during lessons.
  • Working closely with the Heads of Department and class teachers to ensure pupils are making constant improvements and working towards their progress targets.

In the schools most recent Ofsted report, the school's Senior Leadership team were commended for their commitment to continually raise standards. It was also highlighted that the students are supportive of each other which cultures a harmonious learning environment. The school is situated on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas.
