Learning Support Assistant
Job description

A wonderful opportunity for a primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.
Teaching Personnel are working with SEN Schools across Wiltshire, who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team. The schools can cater for pupils between the ages of 4-19 years with Autism (ASD), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD) and Complex needs. Due to the students needs, many of the students learn at a KS1-KS2 level, so we are looking for candidates with primary age experience to bring their creative and nurturing approach to these schools. The schools follow the National Curriculum and run similarly to a mainstream primary school, with small class sizes of around 6-8 pupils.
You will be working as a class-based Teaching Assistant. This will involve supporting the teacher with the lessons and helping pupils with their work. You will also be required to support children on a 1-1 basis and will be responsible for behaviour management and providing emotional support.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, pro-active person who has a real passion for supporting children with special needs. Experience in a school setting is not required, but you should have some experience working with children who have special needs.
We are able to offer full time and part time opportunities as well as flexible/bank work, so please do get in contact whatever your availability.
It would be beneficial for you to drive, but this is not essential.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
