Learning Support Assistant
Location – Hedge end
Contract – Part Time and Full Time
Start date – January 2026
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their best to join one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Hedge End as a Learning Support Assistant.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience supporting children in a primary school or similar educational setting.
- A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to learning and wellbeing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- Flexibility to adapt to different learning needs and classroom settings.
- Reliability, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude to supporting all learners.
- A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional or special educational needs.
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire every child to succeed.
- Help prepare classroom resources and contribute to a positive, stimulating learning environment.
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence in all learners.
- Be an active part of a caring school community where every child feels valued and supported.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
