Learning Support Assistant – Post-16 Education
Mainstream College – Bournemouth
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Start Date: September 2025

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a vibrant and well-resourced Further Education college in Bournemouth. This college is known for its dynamic learning environment, excellent facilities including modern media suites and sports amenities, and a strong progression rate into university and the workforce.

We are seeking a committed and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join the team from September 2025. This is a full-time role, initially on a temporary basis, with the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

About the Role:

You will work closely with college tutors to support students across a variety of T-Levels, A-Level, and vocational courses. Your contribution will play a vital part in helping students achieve their qualifications and develop key skills for adulthood and employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting learners with SEND or additional needs to access the curriculum

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups during both classroom-based and practical sessions

  • Assisting tutors in a range of subject areas, including vocational and T-Level programmes

  • Encouraging student independence, self-esteem, and resilience

  • Promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment

We’re Looking For:

  • A Level 3 qualification or relevant equivalent in education or a related subject

  • Experience working with post-16 learners, particularly in a college setting

  • Strong knowledge of KS5 courses, including T-Levels and vocational qualifications

  • Confidence in providing personal care and practical support where needed

  • English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2

  • A passion for education and a commitment to student progress
