Learning Support Assistant – Full-Time Role Starting in September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting students and making a meaningful impact in education? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in the Bournemouth area.

We’re seeking a caring and proactive individual to assist students with a variety of needs, including special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and other learning barriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support to students in lessons, small groups, or one-to-one settings.

• Support teachers with lesson delivery to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.

• Promote student independence and help build their confidence in learning.

• Assist in implementing tailored strategies for pupils with SEN.

• Help manage and de-escalate behaviour appropriately, in line with school policies.

• Work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience supporting secondary-aged students, particularly those with SEN or additional needs.

• Knowledge: Understanding of SEN and SEMH support strategies.

• Qualities: Empathetic, patient, and confident in communication.

• Team Player: Cooperative, adaptable, and enthusiastic about helping others succeed.

• Professionalism: Strong awareness of safeguarding and a commitment to upholding school values.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
