Teaching Assistant – Bournemouth, Dorset
Start: September 2025 | Contract: Temporary or Permanent (after 18-week hire period)
Hours: Part-time (19.5 hours) or Full-time (32.5 hours) available
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a successful 11-16 mixed comprehensive school in Bournemouth, graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted with outstanding qualities. The school is currently expanding its SEN Department and Student Support Centre, creating an exciting opportunity for new Teaching Assistants to join the team from September 2025.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 or small group support for students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs). Students may have a range of special educational needs, including:
✅ Social communication difficulties
✅ Autism
✅ Dyslexia
✅ Behavioural challenges
You will work closely within the classroom, following the class teacher’s instructions to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Who We’re Looking For:
-
Experience working with young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.

A strong desire to support students and a passion for education.
-
Excellent communication, numeracy, and literacy skills.
-
Experience in sports coaching, mentoring, or personal experience with SEN children is highly valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
