About the Role
You will be working within supportive primary and secondary schools across the area, helping pupils with:
- Autism and communication needs
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
- ADHD and attention needs
- General learning difficulties
- Confidence, motivation, and engagement
This role combines learning support with pastoral and behavioural guidance, providing a varied and meaningful working day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils who need additional help
- Assist with classwork, engagement and positive behaviour routines
- Encourage pupils to stay focused, motivated and involved in learning
- Support students with emotional regulation, transitions and confidence building
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Promote independence, resilience and positive communication
Who This Role Is Suitable For

Full training is provided – you do not need to be qualified, only motivated, reliable and willing to learn.
Essential Qualities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient and confident approach
- Reliability, consistency and a willingness to get involved
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people
- A proactive and adaptable working style
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
Desirable (Not Required)
- Experience supporting young people in any setting
- Awareness of SEN or behaviour support approaches
- Training such as safeguarding or first aid
- Interest in education, psychology, social care or youth support
- A driving licence (useful but not essential)
