Job description

A specialist secondary setting for children and young people with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is seeking a passionate, resilient and creative KS3/4 Teacher to join its dedicated team. About the Role

  • The successful candidate will teach across KS3 and KS4 within small, supportive classes.
  • They will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons designed to meet individual learning needs.
  • They will build strong, trusting relationships that promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • The teacher will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support holistic development.
  • They will contribute to a curriculum that places equal value on academic progress, personal development and life skills.

About the Candidate

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Should have experience working with pupils with Autism and/or SEMH needs, or a genuine willingness to develop this expertise.
  • Must bring creativity, flexibility and a learner‑centred approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication skills and an understanding of trauma‑informed practice are essential.
  • Patience, empathy and a commitment to helping young people thrive are key qualities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
