Job description

Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants are required at SEN schools in the Basingstoke and Andover area. The schools that we work with cater for pupils with a diverse range of needs, including learning difficulties such as Autism; physical difficulties; hearing and visual impairments, and speech and language difficulties.

As an SEN Support Assistant, it is vital that you are patient, understanding and compassionate. You will experience a variety of challenges on a daily basis so it is very important that you have the ability to react quickly and calmly, while demonstrating initiative.

The suitable TA must have:

  • Previous experience with children or adults who have Special Educational Needs
  • A genuine interest in working with children and helping their development
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable
  • A relevant qualification is desirable
  • Minimum grade of A-C Maths and English GCSE's is essential
