Location: North Solihull
Pay: Competitive rates of £15.38 - £19.23 per hour
Essential Requirement: Primary Education QTS
Teaching Personnel is a leading provider of education staffing, dedicated to making a difference every day through tutoring and supply staffing. We are currently seeking qualified teachers to take on the role of Academic Mentors and Intervention Staff in primary schools. We offer both long-term and short-term opportunities, ranging from one term to a full academic year, based on the needs of the schools and your availability.
This role is ideal for someone looking to use their degree and teaching expertise without the full commitment of a class teacher role. Also for teaching assistants with a L4 HLTA qualification looking to embark on a PGCE or QTS degree in upcoming years.
As an Academic Mentor, you will:
- Provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them manage social, emotional, and mental health challenges while supporting their academic progress.
- Offer guidance and encouragement to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.
- Track and monitor students' academic, emotional, and social development through regular meetings.
- Foster a positive learning environment by adopting a confident, supportive approach to mentoring.
Additional Requirements:
- A clear and up-to-date DBS (Teaching Personnel can assist with this process).
- A committed and confident approach to your work.
- Strong relationship-building skills to maintain professional connections with students and staff.
- Experience working with SEND students or youth support services.
- Effective behaviour management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
