SATs Intervention Academic Mentor – Central Birmingham

Location: Central Birmingham | Pay: £15.38–£19.23 per hour | Ideal for ECTs

Are you a Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS) looking to build confidence and experience before taking on a full class teacher role?
Would you like to support pupils in the lead-up to Key Stage 2 SATs and make a real difference in their progress?

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic and committed Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to deliver targeted SATs interventions in primary schools across Central Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your training, gain valuable school experience, and support pupils as they prepare for one of the most important academic milestones in their primary journey.

About the Role:

As a SATs Intervention Academic Mentor, you will:

  • Work 1:1 and with small groups of Year 6 pupils to support them in maths, reading, and SPaG

  • Focus on building subject confidence, exam techniques, and filling learning gaps

  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to tailor support plans

  • Track and report on academic progress and areas for development

  • Contribute to a calm, motivating environment in the lead-up to assessments

This role is perfect for ECTs who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Primary Education

  • Are looking to build practical classroom experience without full teaching responsibility

  • Are passionate about raising attainment and helping pupils meet their potential

  • Have strong subject knowledge in Key Stage 2 SATs content

  • Are confident with behaviour management and creating engaging learning spaces

  • Are available for short or long-term placements, depending on school need

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
