Full time temporary Learning Mentor required for a Bolton Secondary school from November 2018, on a flexible ad-hoc basis until the end of the academic year.

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' C of E Secondary school to recruit an experienced Learning Mentor for their support faculty.

Due to a restructure within their support team, the school are seeking a passionate Learning Mentor who will be able to successfully work with pupils across all subjects. The staff team consists of 27 members of support staff and the school continues to put in support provisions for their pupils.

  • Full time Learning Mentor, November 2018.
  • Initially on a temporary supply basis until the end of the academic year.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' C of E Secondary School.
  • Must have previous experience supporting with young people within an educational capacity.
  • Pay in line with experience - up to £1350 per month.

The responsibilities for the incoming Learning Mentor will include;

  • Work within various department supporting pupils 1:1 or in small intervention groups and deliver pre-planned lessons with full guidance and support to identified pupils.
  • Take a flexible, empathetic and resilient approach to all pupils and promote good behaviour, relative to the school behaviour strategy.
  • Help support the class teacher in order to keep pupils engaged; bridging the gap between them and their peers.

The school has an atmosphere for outstanding teaching and learning. The school is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Secondary school, judged 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. Currently judged to be in the top 3% of schools nationally for teaching and learning, the school has over 1,000 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. The school is oversubscribed and draws pupils from five local authorities and a very large number of primary schools.

The school is located in Farnworth at the border between Bury and Salford; easily accessible via the M61 and the surrounding areas, which include Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the school.
