Year 4 Class Teacher

The School:

The Headteacher of a one form entry Primary School in Skelmersdale is looking for a dynamic class teacher to join their KS2 Team. The role is full time Monday-Friday teaching a class of Y4 pupils who are eager to learn! The school is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Wigan, Ormskirk, Chorley, Leyland and Preston Preston. The Headteacher is committed to whole school improvement and is keen to secure a teacher with a strong academic background, preferable somebody who has experience working within an an 'inner-city catchment due to the schools mixed catchment area.

The school have a well established senior leadership team and have very few staffing changes. Behaviour in school is good; this is reflective of the re-bust behaviour management strategies consistently implemented across the school by all staff. The Headteacher encourages collaborative planning to reduce the teacher s workload and develop best practice across Key Stage 2.

The Role:

This position has cropped up due to a recent resignation and the school are keen to appoint a teacher who would be interested in a permanent role within their staff team. The school are looking for a teacher for a Y4 class. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. Candidates must hold strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing.

The pay and working hours:

The rate of pay will reflect the role and also the level of experience of the successful applicant. It is expected to fall within the bracket of GBP90-GBP130 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day. To confirm also, this is a full-time role to start from March 2020 (or ASAP). The expectation is that the role will continue until July 2021 with the view to extend into the 2021/22 academic year onto a school contract.

How to apply:

To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also have recent experience delivering the national curriculum to children in LKS2 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school are keen to secure a teacher who will work collaboratively with the staff team and share the whole school community ethos.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
