A small Blackburn primary school are looking to appoint a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to fill an upcoming vacancy in a Key Stage 1 class from November 2019. The children of this popular and successful school are at the heart of what they do. The proportion of children with Education, Health and Care plans is well-above the national average, as is the proportion of children supported through pupil premium funding. In addition to this, almost all pupils are from ethnic minority groups and speak English as an additional language. The school aspire for their pupils to be cheerful and independent individuals who reach their potential and are proud of their achievements. They hope to recruit a member of support staff who shares these aspirations and promotes them consistently within their practice.

This new Teaching Assistant vacancy is ideal if you are looking for work that is rewarding and will enable you to make a difference in the lives of young children. You will be responsible for providing general support to a Key Stage 1 class, which will include but is not limited to: working with small groups of children, carrying out administrative tasks, creating displays and delivering interventions. Recent experience in Key Stage 1 is necessary, as is an ability to confidently deliver small group phonic sessions. Behaviour in school is good and the pupils understand the consequences of their actions. They listen carefully to staff and follow instructions well. The successful candidate will demonstrate high expectations of behaviour and achievement and will consistently implement the school's behaviour management policy in order to maintain good behaviour in the classroom and around school.
