Location: Newport and surrounding areas
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: From £13.75 per hour
Start Date: May 2025

Join Our Team as an Interventions Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and helping them reach their full potential? We are currently recruiting an Interventions Teaching Assistant for a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Newport and nearby areas.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to work closely with students who require 1:1 or small group intervention support, particularly those with behavioural challenges or learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ALN in the mainstream classroom

Assist with literacy and numeracy development using tailored intervention strategies
-
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
-
Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and families
-
Offer social and emotional support as needed
-
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and follow school safeguarding policies
-
Adapt to changing needs with flexibility and resilience
Essential Requirements:

Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
-
Hold or be willing to obtain a Child-Only Enhanced DBS Certificate
-
Provide two professional references covering the last 24 months
-
Demonstrate strong resilience and confidence when supporting pupils with behavioural needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
