Intervention Teacher
Nelson Primary School
Primary school with a strong community ethos
Work part time working hours in the week (2 or 3 FULL days)
The role:
The role will be to work across year 4 & 5 classes, supporting small groups and as individuals. You will be working with children of all ability levels, including children with special needs, higher and lower attainment levels & a few pupils with EAL. Due to lost learning, the children are being prepared for the step-up into year 6 and so it is important that they receive small, grouped booster sessions in order to give them the best opportunity to reach their potential. You will be expected to hold strong written and spoken English skills as well as Maths. You will be expected to work alongside the class teachers in both year 4 & 5 classes to differentiate the planning and have an impact on the acceleration of learning in these subject areas. It is not essential that you have delivered SATs booster sessions previously, however it would be beneficial as the speed at which the successful candidate would need to impact the children’s learning will be monitored initially. The school are open to having NQT’s, as well as experienced teachers apply for the role. Depending on experience, the pay will range from GBP90 - GBP135 per day.
The School:
The School is good by Ofsted and sets high standards for behaviour and attainment. The children who attend school are mainly from the local area which is considered to be a mixed catchment, where the children are mainly working below expected levels and arrive from working class backgrounds. The support from parents is limited and so the Head teacher has used a variety of techniques in order to gain their trust and buy-in when it comes to delivering certain messages in school. The feedback for the staff we have previously had in school have been very positive. Everybody comments on the support they receive on arrival as well as the enthusiasm the Head teacher has for moving her children from their start point to the end, which now shows good progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
