Graduate Teaching Assistant - Humanities - Future Teachers Programme

Teaching Personnel is recruiting graduates of History, Geography and RE who may be considering roles in teaching for the Future Teachers Programme.

The programme:

The Future Teachers Programme prepares graduates for a career in education through providing them with a year-long teaching assistant placement within a secondary school in the following areas of Tyne and Wear: Gateshead, Sunderland, Washington, Peterlee and Jarrow.

The purpose of this programme is to ensure that individuals who may be considering becoming teachers are able to gain a realistic yet enjoyable insight into the demands of their role. If candidates demonstrate enthusiasm and a genuine passion towards helping young people, they may be eligible for a place on that particular school's SCITT programme.

The candidate:

Applicants for this role must already be a graduate or need to be graduating in July 2019. We are seeking graduates who are looking to teach Humanities, as there is a particular shortage in this particular area of curriculum.

Candidates must also establish that they are genuinely interested in becoming a teacher in the future.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
