‍ Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary Schools | Sheffield & Barnsley | September 2025 Start ‍

We are currently recruiting passionate and experienced HLTAs to work across a range of primary schools in Sheffield and Barnsley. If you’re ready to take on a more active teaching support role and make a difference in the classroom, we want to hear from you!

Location: Sheffield & Barnsley

Role: HLTA – Primary (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)

Start Date: September 2025

⏰ Contract: Full-time / Part-time | Long-term & temp-to-perm options

Role Overview:

• Leading whole-class learning in the absence of the teacher
• Running small group interventions and catch-up programmes
• Supporting pupils with SEND or EAL needs
• Assisting with planning, classroom prep, and behaviour management
• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and parents

✅ Requirements:

• HLTA qualification (Level 4 or equivalent)
• Primary classroom experience, ideally across multiple key stages
• Confident delivering lessons and managing the class independently
• Good understanding of the primary national curriculum
• Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one)
