Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary Schools | Sheffield & Barnsley | Full-Time or Part-Time | Immediate/September start
Are you a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for your next role in supportive and welcoming primary schools across Sheffield and Barnsley? We are currently recruiting for flexible, reliable, and skilled HLTAs to support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
Locations: Sheffield & Barnsley
Role: HLTA – Primary
Start Date: Immediate/September
⏰ Contract: Full-time or part-time | Long-term | Day-to-day cover also available
Your Role Will Include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting small groups or 1:1 interventions
- Assisting with planning and preparation when required
- Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs
- Collaborating with teachers and school staff to enhance learning
✅ What You’ll Need:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a UK primary school setting
- Confidence to lead classes across KS1 and KS2
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
