Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our partnering school in South Leeds. The school is looking for an experience HLTA who has worked in a similar setting before and who is committed to providing an inclusive, alternative education to pupils. This post is full time (5 days a week) and it will start in January.
The school has been rated "Outstanding" by OFSTED and is reflected by all of their committed members of staff. This school creates a warm, safe and inclusive environment for all members of staff and their pupils. They are very proud of their personalised education plans for each individual student and they run intervention workshops daily for those who need extra support.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work with pupils from ages 4-19 across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. You will be required to adapt lessons for students who need additional support whilst motivating and progressing their learning. You will lead group and 1:1 interventions so you must be familiar with the lesson plans and IEPs targets for each individual student in the class. You may also be required to plan and prepare lessons with teachers and cover the class when the teacher is not there.
Specific Job Role Requirements:
- To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teaching within lessons to ensure all children make good progress.
- To complement the teachers' delivery of the curriculum when leading 1:1 or group interventions
- To provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils.
- Plan and prepare lessons with teachers
- To cover and teach lessons to whole classes during the absence of teachers e.g. for leadership duties or PPA
- Promote and support inclusion of all pupils and supporting SEN children within the classroom
