HLTA/Cover Supervisor work available in outstanding SEN school

A special needs school near romford, South East London, is looking for a member of ‘bank staff’ to cover teacher absence on a regular basis.

The school has 8 classes spanning reception to year 6, and groups students according to their needs and abilities. You will find mixed early years, mixed key stage 1 and mixed stage 2 classes comprising maximum 10 students each. Classes are either autism based or PMLD based.

• You will be called for work on an ad hoc basis, as and when the school requires the supply cover to be booked
• You will lead the class for the day, with the support of up to 3 TAs in each class
• The day’s schedule will already be in place, and resources/materials will be supplied so you will not have to plan or prepare anything
• You will lead sessions on personalised learning, numeracy and communication, sensory development, physical development like PE classes and other tactile lessons like art, music
• You will have use of dark and light sensory rooms, an indoor sensory circuit and an outdoor sensory garden
• Pay rate GBP80 - GBP100 per day

Please be aware that you must be suitably qualified in order to carry out this work. The school will accept any of the following:

• PGCE with QTS or QTLS
• PTLLS/DTLLS
• HLTA qualification
