History Teacher

A great introduction for a passionate and dedicated humanities teacher to work at a committed and inclusive secondary school in the heart of Bolton.

Full-time History Teacher post starting in September 2020 with a view to become permanent. Opportunity to began earlier if the suitable candidate is available.

Post open to History Teachers of all levels. Salary in line with the current teacher pay scale.

Thriving and dynamic secondary school located just a 10 minute drive from Bolton town centre and from areas of Salford. Westhoughton and Wigan are also very accessible.

The following qualities are essential to the History Teacher post:

• Outstanding subject knowledge of History with an ability to share this with pupils in an exciting and academically rigorous way
• Knowledge of other humanity subjects is very desirable
• A strong classroom teacher who can manage behaviour accordingly
• The ability to build rapport and gain respect of school staff, pupils and parents alike
• Outstanding communication skills
• Organised and reliable
• Ability to work under pressure
• Enthusiastic and be able to bring new ideas to the school and department

The successful History Teacher will join a team of committed and forward thinking practitioners who are dedicated to creating a love for learning. You will deliver a full History timetable across Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 which is inspiring and has clear aims and objectives in line with the current national curriculum which focusses on topic such as Elizabethan England, America and WWI.

History Teachers applying to the post will be determind, enthusiastic and have a real passion for teaching the subject to eager pupils. A commitment to achieving excellent results for students through holding high expectations of themselves and others is essential. Other desirable qualities of the History Teacher post include being a real team player and being able to contribute positively to the faculty.
