Are you a History teacher and seeking a teaching opportunity in Southampton? If so get in touch!

A Southampton school are currently looking for a full time history teacher to join their team from September 2020. The successful candidate would be joining a “caring and stimulating ethos, which enables pupils to make strong progress". The position would be a permanent full time role in a ‘Good’ rated Ofsted school.

The school are looking for an individual who can teach across a wide variety of age groups from KS3 to KS4 utilising the AQA GCSE syllabus. The successful candidate will have to be able to inspire and engage students whilst enabling them to reach their full potential. The ability to build strong relationships with students is crucial to succeed in this role, the school has a high proportion of students with additional special educational needs and being able to build strong relationships with the pupils will aid behaviour and classroom management..

The school have great opportunities for teachers to further their career as being apart of a wider school network which has schools across the Southampton area, there is the opportunity available to progress through to middle and senior leadership within the trust through their CPD opportunities. This is supported with Ofsted’s latest report which states “leaders have developed innovative and highly effective approaches to training and developing teachers’ skills”.

Due to the Humanities department being ambitious and continually striving for, excellence the school are seeking an individual which satisfies the below:

  • You will be a qualified Techer or hold relevant qualifications.
  • Would be desirable if you hold a relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Passionate about having a career in teaching.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge within History.
  • Have proven experience as a History teacher and can demonstrate how you have been able to support students to reach their predicted grades.

The school are looking for the right candidate to start in September 2020, all candidates will be considered, and online interviews will be arranged on application.
