Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Outstanding Special Behaviour School in Chigwell. They are an all boys Primary PRU and work with students between the ages of 4-11. This residential school focuses on nurture of their students and modelling positive behaviours as they work with students with Social, emotional and mental health difficulties and those who come from vulnerable backgrounds.

Students typically stay at the school for 1-2 terms and are eventually reintegrated into a mainstream environment. This school uses a token system to reward psoitive bahaviours, tokens are given every 15 minutes to students who model positive behaviours and follow instructions. These tokens can be spent in the school shop or redeemed towards school trips. This revolutionary way of behaviour management creates a positive, unique and enjoyable atmostphere for all who enter the premises, students and staff alike.

They are currently looking for a HLTA to join their ranks starting September 2020. The canididate would have a number of years experience working in an education setting with students with challenging behaviours/SEMH or those with SEN. The candidate should be confident enough to work with small groups and be able to take over a class session in the absence of the class teacher. You will work closely with the class teacher and the teaching assistants to support with learning, offer ideas for lessons and activities and provide both learning and behaviour support.

The ideal candidate must:

-Have prior experience working in a school setting with sttudents with SEMH or SEN (2 years minimum)

-Have experience working as a HLTA or be willing/confident to lead classes in the absence of a teacher

-Be available full-time

-Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

-Be available for a September 2020 start

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
