Are you set to graduate from University in the upcoming months or are you a graduate looking to gain further experience in a secondary school setting before beginning a teacher training placement in September? If you would like to gain an introduction in to working in the secondary schools across Oldham, Rochdale and North Manchester then please see details below.

  • Gain paid experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Earn up to £60/65 per day, dependant on previous experiences
  • Gain an insight in to daily life working in a secondary setting
  • Use your subject specialism to advance the learning of students aged 11-16

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of schools across Oldham and Rochdale to give graduates and those currently studying the opportunity to gain paid work in secondary schools before they start a career in teaching through a PGCE or similar teacher training programme. Due to a teaching shortage, Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of training providers to launch Future Teachers, a graduate scheme to encourage participation in teacher training programmes.

Whilst performing graduate work in schools, you will have the opportunity to work in a number of different positions including teaching assistant, learning support, mentor, tutor, cover and supervisor and invigilator. The working schedule is flexible dependant on your own preferences and the time of year, with the opportunity to work on a part time basis around studies or to secure a full time position in a single school for an extended period of time.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
