Graduate Teaching Assistants

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting the Headteacher of one of our client schools with the introduction of Graduate Teaching Assistants who are able to work within the school for the remainder of this academic year.

School: Ofsted 'Good' graded secondary school located in Horwich

Position: Full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant

Pay: Typical earnings of £1000 - £1200 per month

Length of employment: Full-time 12 month position starting in September for the full academic year.

Our client secondary school wish to appoint a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants in order to support departments such as Maths, English and Science, helping to bolster results and alleviate pressure from the classroom teachers this academic year; In return the school will offer complete support to the successful candidates and support them in preparation of a teacher training application in the future.

The school have highlighted that to be successful for this role then you must be an aspiring teacher who is flexible and willing to learn and adapt during their time in school.

Whilst working within our client Secondary school you will also have access to regular CPD training sessions that are ran through a number of Teaching Personnel's local partner schools. These sessions will be specifically aimed at Graduates and are the perfect preparation help you further develop your skills and knowledge prior to undertaking your PGCE.

Responsibilities of a Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • 1:1 Tuition with students that require extra support in their subject
  • Lead small group intervention sessions leading up to key examinations
  • Take responsibility for revision sessions and learning clubs during break times and lunch
  • Providing general classroom teaching cover to other areas within the school
  • Involvement in departmental planning and marking

Our client school has a Sixth Form on campus and is larger than the average Secondary school with around 1800 pupils on roll. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was rated 'Good' in all areas. The school is located in Bolton and can easily be accessed via the M61 motorway. Public transport links are easily accessible via the surrounding areas of Wigan, Chorley, Preston, Bury and Salford.
