Graduate Teaching Assistant - Future Teachers Programme

Teaching Personnel are now accepting applications for the Future Teachers Programme - Academic Year 19/20. If you are a recent graduate considering a career in teaching and want the opportunity to earn paid school based experience, please apply now!

  • Full time graduate teaching assistant role for 12 months (term time only)
  • Clear pathway into your teaching career
  • Gain paid school based experience - up to £1200 per month

Applicants to the Future Teachers Programme must be educated to degree level and will have a degree in Maths, Science, English, Languages or Humanities.

Graduates enrolled on the programme will be introduced to one of Teaching Personnel's client schools to work as a subject specialist Teaching Assistant for one academic year. This will provide you with a clear pathway onto a school based initial teacher training programme and will give you the confidence to begin your career in teaching.

Throughout the programme, Graduate Teaching Assistants will be introduced to our client school located in Chorlton, South Manchester. Graduates will undertake a variety of tasks and activities upskilling you in these areas and providing you with the necessary experience for your Teacher Training. Graduates will focus on their subject specialism and will support pupils to help raise pupil attainment.

Responsibilities of Graduate Future Teachers will include:

  • Supporting in class and covering lessons in the short term absence of teachers
  • Providing small group and 1:1 intervention sessions in your subject specialism
  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of lessons alongside teachers
