Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a graduate teaching assistant on behalf of our client school located in Bury.

Due to an increase in pupils requiring additional support within their studies, this large Bury based 11-16 secondary school wish to appoint a graduate teaching assistant with a strong academic background who can influence the learning and development of their pupils.

  • Full time graduate teaching assistant position
  • ASAP start on a full time basis until the end of school examinations (July 2018)
  • Supporting the learning of pupils aged 11-16 across all subject areas
  • Ofsted graded good school located in Bury
  • Earn up to £1200 per month
  • Applicant requirements: Educated to degree level and previous/transferable experience working within secondary education

The Headteacher of this well managed secondary school hopes to appoint a number of graduate teaching assistant to work within his support team this academic year. As a graduate teaching assistant the successful applicant will hold a number of responsibilities including; providing tuition to pupils on a 1:1 basis, supporting the learning of lower attaining pupils as well as having the opportunity to deliver full class lessons in the absence of teachers (support and work provided).

This is the ideal opportunity to gain the necessary skills and experience for those considering applying to teacher training courses (PGCE, Schools Direct and Teach First) to further your experience working within secondary schools. Applicants will ideally have previous experience working within education and will have their own transport to travel to school at short notice (Desirable not essential).

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
