Graduate Teaching Assistant, Scarborough

Job description

I am currently seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants to work across Special Needs provisions in Scarborough. The work will be shared across Primary and Secondary pupils within alternative provisions, so you must be flexible and adaptable.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be required to provide support for pupils with SEN in a classroom environment as well as on school trips. Support can be within nurture groups, individual 1:1 support as well as interventions. Due to EHCP's the students may require personal care and specific tailored support. At these schools, students has various SEN such as GDD (Global Development Delay), Autism, Physical Disabilities, MLD (Moderate) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple). As some students have complex additional needs, it is very important as a Learning Support Assistant to have a very patient and calming nature.


  • Experience with children, either in an educational, youth or health care capacity
  • Experience with additional needs
  • DBS- Child Only on the update service
  • 6 year career history with applicable references
  • Own transport
  • Minimum of GCSE A-C in Maths and English
