Teaching Personnel are seeking graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in Special Needs Education. Successful candidates will be required to provide specialist support for pupils in n Outstanding School in Leeds. This is a highly rewarding role, with the opportunity to work in one of Europe's largest SEN Schools, giving aspiring teachers vital experience and the chance to gain an understanding of the complexities relating to Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The school provides alternative education for pupils aged 3-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs including Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties. Based in North Leeds, the school is just a 20 minute drive from the City Centre, and is easily accessible by public transport.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will have a desire to work with young people and aim to make a real difference to a child's life. Experience of working with Special Needs is desirable, and any extra training such as Moving and Handling or Team Teach is highly desirable. We are looking for hard working and committed individuals who would be confident and happy working with pupils with additional needs in a specialist setting. The following are essential to the role:

  • Recent graduate in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related specialism
  • Firm understanding of meeting the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of young people
  • Be proactive and resilient to the nature of the role
