Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Preston)
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Start Date: As soon as possible

A welcoming and inclusive SEN (Special Educational Needs) school in Preston is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its team. This is an ideal role for recent graduates who are enthusiastic about supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs and are considering a career in education, psychology, or therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a variety of learning needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to provide individual and small group support.
  • Adapt and prepare learning resources to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and communication in pupils.
  • Help to maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A strong interest in SEN and inclusive education.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable but not essential.
