Are you a recent Graduate having graduated in the past year or two?

Are you looking to find work in the education sector and have any relevant, transferable skills which you will be able to utilise supporting students in a secondary school setting?

  • Graduate scheme: full time graduate support role in a supportive secondary school
  • Pay will range between £1140 and £1370 per month
  • Opportunity to progress on to a school based contract
  • Duration: full academic year 2019/2020 starting as close to the beginning of September as possible
  • Support in a secondary school situated in the Tameside area of Greater Manchester

Our client secondary school situated on the east side of Greater Manchester, in Tameside is looking to recruit a recent graduate to fulfil the role of a Teaching Assistant starting with them in September/October 2019.

The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant is required to support as a general class teaching assistant working with students who are below the grade that they should be. Graduates of any subject specialism are encouraged to apply and any with any relevant experience of working with young people are highly encouraged to apply for immediate consideration. The role will also entail supporting students in a variety of settings including small groups, one to one working on providing them with tuition and as a general class assistant.

This role is ideal for:

  • Graduate with any experience tutoring or mentoring students/colleagues
  • Previous Youth Worker supporting vulnerable young people
  • Graduate with experience assisting in a secondary school
  • Graduate with any experience supporting a young person with SEN
  • Any experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviour is beneficial

The school is specifically looking for a confident, motivated and adaptable graduate who is seeking a role within the education sector supporting at a vibrant and supportive secondary school. Any former experience is highly desirable for this position. There are students of mixed abilities and background who attend this school and so any experience of engaging with a variety of young people in a previous setting will be beneficial.

This school is situated in the Tameside area of Greater Manchester close to the M67 motorway network and M60 ring road. The school is very easy to get to with an on site car park and boasting fantastic facilities. The school is considered a large school having 1000 students on roll and for any graduates travelling via public transport, the local train station is a short 5 minute walk away.
