Graduate Teaching Assistant

Ashton-in-Makerfield and Surrounding Areas

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education? We are currently seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants to join secondary schools in and around Ashton-in-Makerfield. We offer both full and part-time positions, with flexible work options to accommodate your schedule. Depending on your availability, you can expect to earn between up to £400 per week. While previous experience in a secondary school setting is preferred, it's not essential.

Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistants for our client secondary schools in Ashton-in-Makerfield. In this role, you will provide crucial support to classroom teachers and fill in various roles across the school's teaching faculty.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future career in education, as you'll have the chance to grow within supportive secondary schools committed to your development.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in our client schools, each day will bring new challenges, so flexibility and adaptability are key.

Your responsibilities will include:

Classroom Support - You'll work as a Teaching Assistant within classrooms to ensure all students understand the coursework and offer guidance when needed.

1:1 Support - You may be assigned to work one-on-one with students, including those with behavioral difficulties or special educational needs (SEN).

Behavior Management - Monitoring and managing student behavior during lessons to minimize disruptions.

Subject-Specific Support - Providing 1:1 tutoring in your specialist subject or leading small intervention sessions for students requiring extra support.

General Cover - Occasionally, you may provide general cover for lessons, a valuable experience if you're considering a future PGCE application.

You'll have the opportunity to work in various schools in and around Ashton-in-Makerfield. While having your transportation is beneficial, it's not mandatory, as excellent transport links connect you to nearby areas like St Helens, Warrington, Leigh, and Chorley.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
