Sports Coach – Graduate role

Are you a sports coaching graduate looking to step into a career in education? Are you looking to gain experience to support a teacher training application?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for sports coaching and PE graduates to work as coaching and teaching assistants in Greater Manchester secondary schools. Graduate sports coaching roles will commence from September 2021 and will be full time (Monday to Friday, generally 8:30 – 3:00). Applicants must be committed to the role as we will be looking to place graduates for the entire academic year 2021/22.

The role of graduate sports coach will see successful candidates assist in PE lessons, supporting regular PE teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons. Sports coaches may also be required to act as teaching assistants when necessary, helping regular classroom teachers plan and deliver lessons as well as assisting vulnerable students (SEMH, SEN students, students displaying challenging behaviour) and occasionally covering lessons in the absence of teachers.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to begin a career in secondary education. Candidates could use the experience to begin a career in classroom support, or use the invaluable classroom hours to support a teacher training application. We’re currently looking for applicants from the Greater Manchester area of Stockport, including Cheadle Hulme, Heaton Chapel, Romiley, Bredbury and the surrounding areas.

Candidate requirements for this position:

• Sports/ Physical Education graduate
• Committed to a career in secondary education
• Full time availability for the academic year 2021/22
• Full 6 year career/ education history ready to be provided with suitable references
• Child workforce DBS certificate on the update service/ eligibility to apply
