Are you a Sports Graduate with a passion for supporting students that’s looking to take the step into a career in education?

A well rated Tameside school tare looking to hire a Graduate Sports Coach. The role is full time and temporary but could be extended to permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will support students in a sports coaching capacity as well as acting as a teaching assistant when required. Sports coaches will work mostly to support SEN and vulnerable students in and out of the classroom, providing academic intervention and pastoral support. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for school-based experience to support a PGCE application, or for those with aspirations of a career in sports coaching or classroom assistance.

Candidate requirements for this role include:

• Sports Coaching or Physical Education degree would be ideal and beneficial, however degrees in Maths, Science, Psychology etc are also beneficial
• Experience supporting young people in sports coaching capacity or otherwise e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, support work
• Keen interest in Sports Coaching and working with young people and students, and a passion for a career in education  
• Child workforce DBS certificate on the update service/ candidate is willing and eligible to apply for one
• Suitable employment-based references with no safeguarding concerns or disciplinary issues attached

• Ideal for candidates local to Ashton-under-Lyne, Dukinfield, Stalybridge, Denton, Mossley as well as candidates from Central Manchester and Stockport
• Providing support in a sports coaching capacity as well as classroom assistance and support sessions when necessary
• Providing support primarily to students with SEN and SEMH requirements and other vulnerable students e.g. residential care backgrounds, youth work backgrounds
• Excellent opportunity to gain valuable secondary school experience to support a PGCE application
• Up to GBP350 a week pay
