Our client secondary schools in the Tameside area are seeking to appoint motivated and confident graduates to work in the classroom with students in a mainstream setting aged 11 - 16. There are cover supervisory roles as well as Teaching Assistant roles available in a variety of secondary schools in the areas of Stalybridge, Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, Audenshaw and Denton.

Cover Supervisor role:

  • Cover mainstream lessons in the absence of a class teacher
  • Deliver pre -set and planned work as the responsible cover 'teacher'
  • Ensure students remain on task and are engaged with accordingly
  • Remain in control and confident as the main responsible adult in the classroom

Teaching Assistant role:

  • Provide general classroom support as well as work with specific students who have been identified by the special educational needs department.
  • Work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, providing additional assistance and intervention
  • Run nurture groups in Maths and English, supporting lower ability students providing dedicated support
