A school in Berkshire is looking for a Geography teacher to join the teaching staff on a full time basis from September 2020. The role will focus on delivering high quality lessons across KS3 and KS4. There may be potential for some KS5 teaching to also take place.

The ideal applicant will be a teacher who is an enthusiastic, committed and ambitious practitioner. You will work across all year groups and support a broad programme of extra-curriculum activities as well as school excursions and trips. This role is permanent, however teachers seeking temporary employment will also be considered.

The post is suitable for a newly qualified teacher and they will aid you on your induction year with a supporting faculty and plenty of shielded time to ensure you can keep up with the induction process.

The school would also be interested in a teacher who will be looking to make the jump to head of department in the next few years, this will be important to ensure that the faculty can continue to grow and thrive!

The applicant should have:

  • QTS
  • Experience in the teaching of Geography within a secondary school.
  • A degree (preferably in Geography or a related subject.)

It is essential that the candidate is able to:

  • Deliver lessons in line with school curriculum, providing students with engaging lessons designed to ensure that students maximise their overall ability fully.
  • Work with students on an individual basis, to ensure that individual needs are being catered for as effectively as possible.
  • Manage behaviour of students, and ensure that pupils are adhering to school policy both within the classroom as well as across the school site.
  • Working with support staff to identify pupils who may require additional support within the subject.
  • Manage the needs of those with SEN, as well as providing consistent support and guidance to those requiring EAL support.
  • Providing educational material and resources designed to allow students to thrive within the subject.
  • Monitor day to day factors related to attendance, exam reparation and overall student progress/attainment.

  • There are multiple public transport links located close by
  • The M4 motorway is located in close proximity.
