There are over 2100 students on roll, including an expanding Sixth Form of 360 , and each Year 7 entry since 1985 has been oversubscribed. There are two campuses which are less than one kilometre apart and the Academy day is punctuated by breaks, which allow time for travel between sites.
Excellent funding has allowed the Academy to enhance resources and equipment and widely promote the use of new technologies. There are interactive whiteboards and digital projectors in all curriculum areas with over 900 computers and laptops across both sites.
The school pride themselves on delivering a high standard of teaching which is confirmed by Ofsted commenting: ‘The behaviour of students is outstanding. They have excellent attitudes to learning, showing great respect to staff and to each other. This helps to create an exceptionally positive environment in which to learn throughout the academy’.
