Job description

Full time position for a specialist English Teacher in an outstanding school. The position commences in September 2018 and runs until the end of the academic year.

The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy Trust which runs across 4 sites all of which are located in Oldham. Sites cater for pupils between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role will involve planning and delivering lessons that are designed to foster the English development of pupils with SEN. Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in Teachers who have experience of working with pupils with SEN in some capacity. The ideal Teacher will ideally have experience working within a Special School Setting; however this is not essential as long as the Teacher can demonstrate a passion for working with SEN.

The ideal Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
  • An in-depth knowledge of how to plan and deliver English GCSE lessons
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN in some capacity
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with pupils, school support staff, other teachers and parents

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
